NEW YORK, NY – Internet-turned-TV funnymen (and the inexplicable bane of DJ Envy’s existence) Desus & Mero are reportedly eyeing a premium payday.
Deadline is reporting that their popular show with Viceland is coming to a close in favor of a bigger rollout on Showtime’s primetime network.
The current nightly addition is said to be replaced with a weekly format. According to Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva, the Bodega Boys began telling staff about the departure on June 14.
In its two seasons, the Bronx-born, Hip Hop adjacent comedians have seen their stock rise tremendously. While they rose to prominence interviewing nearly every rapper on top of the news cycle, the duo crossed over to pop culture tip, having sitdowns with the likes of Melissa McCarthy, John Cena, Matthew Rhys and several political figures.
The show’s final episode is expected to air June 28.
