Polo G and DaBaby have been added to the 2021 Hot 97 Summer Jam lineup, joining Meek Mill, Migos, Saweetie, MoneyBagg Yo, A Boogie, Bobby Shmurda and more performers.

Plus, Swizz Beatz is set to deliver a tribute to his late friend DMX, who died April 9 at age 50. The tribute comes after Swizz hit the stage at the BET Awards on June 27 and paid homage to DMX alongside hip-hop contemporaries including Busta Rhymes, The LOX and Method Man.

“Hot 97 Summer Jam is traditionally the official start of summer, but this year it’s the official return of hip-hop,” Ebro Darden, host of Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning, said in a statement. “We’re excited to present historic live performances for the culture and make iconic historic moments in hip-hop.”

The Hot 97 Summer Jam kicks off Aug. 22 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Tickets are available for purchase online via Ticketmaster. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Hip-Hop Has Heart Foundation to support community programs and initiatives.

Bradford Tobin, president and CEO of station owner MediaCo Holding Inc., said in a statement, “Hot 97’s Summer Jam is returning in a major way and we are all eager to get outside and back to enjoying live music. COVID-19 safety protocols remain a priority and the entire production team is working in close consultation with Metlife Stadium, as well as the state and federal guidelines to ensure the safety of our fans and staff.”

And hip-hop’s very own Funk Flex is thrilled to be a part of the big day. “DJs provided the soundtrack to the world during the pandemic and our entire team is amped to perform live and feel the energy from the crowd,” he said in a statement. “We are all ready for the return of Summer Jam.”
