Common is opening up for the first time about his romance with Tiffany Haddish, saying he couldn’t be happier with the new relationship.
“She’s a wonderful woman, a queen, and just a beautiful person,” the 48-year-old rapper and actor said Friday (Aug. 7) during a virtual interview on Live With Kelly and Ryan. “I care for her a lot, enjoy her and am grateful to have her in my life. Yeah, I’m happy!”
Haddish, 40, recently confirmed the couple’s relationship during an interview on Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast.
“I’m doing it with Common,” the comedian and actress said, noting that it’s the first time she’s had a celebrity boyfriend. She added that her romance with the rapper is “hands down the best relationship” she’s ever had.
“I’ve lost 20 pounds since I’ve been in this relationship. I feel more confident in me and it’s not him that’s doing it,” Haddish said. “I’m just way happier and it’s, like, knowing I got somebody that cares about me, that really has my back. It seems like he does anyways, and I love it. I love him.”
The Girls Trip star first met Common when he was cast as her love interest in the 2019 film The Kitchen. The two remained friends at first, getting together occasionally to play card games. Things turned romantic after a virtual date on Bumble, during which they bonded over their childhood goals, danced and ordered food for frontline workers at hospitals.
