The couple have been married since 2017.
Cardi B has once again filed for divorce from Offset, her rep reportedly confirmed to Page Six. The news comes after seven years of marriage between the two hip-hop titans.
The “WAP” artist reportedly filed on Wednesday, requesting primary custody of their 5-year-old daughter Kulture and 2-year-old son Wave.
Billboard has reached out to both parties’ reps as well as Cardi’s legal team for comment.
The news marks the second time Cardi has called for a divorce from Offset since they tied the knot in 2017. Cardi previously filed to legally end their marriage in September 2020, explaining to fans at the time that it wasn’t “because of cheating” — although their relationship has been wrought with infidelity rumors on the Migos rapper’s end since nearly the beginning.
“I just got tired of f—ing arguing,” she added at the time. “I got tired of not seeing things eye to eye.”
Within a month, however, Cardi revealed that she and the “Stir Fry” rapper had sorted things out, and the case was dismissed in the early days of November 2020. “It’s hard not to talk to your best friend,” she said on Instagram Live of the rekindling. “It’s really hard not to talk to your best friend. And it’s really hard to have no di–.”
Over the next four years, their romance survived a few more rough patches — more cheating rumors, plus a social media squabble between the spouses — before Cardi finally confirmed that they had split once more. “I’ve been single for a minute now,” she said on Live in December 2023.
Fans have been hopeful these past few months, however, that the couple were again smoothing things over. They spent New Year’s together, and Offset directed Cardi’s “Like What (Freestyle)” music video in March; plus, they were spotted on a date at a New York Knicks game in April before the “I Like It” musician thanked her estranged husband for showering her with Mother’s Day gifts in May.
Cardi has been the first to admit that her relationship with Offset has always been complicated, telling Rolling Stone in May, “We’re best friends … It’s not even about ‘How do you leave a partner?’ How do you stop talking to your best friend?”
