Cardi B has reassured fans that they need not worry about her safety when she’s out in public and that she can look after herself.
Fans of the Bronx rap star grew concerned on Wednesday (August 28) when a TikTok video made the rounds showing a pregnant Cardi stood on her own in a busy New York City street, seemingly without any security.
“POV: you’re getting Starbucks in NYC and casually make eye contact with CARDI B [exploding head emoji],” read the caption of the clip.
After a fan took to X (formerly Twitter) to jokingly asked: “Now why my wife is walking with no security in them streets?,” Cardi replied: “It was like 9am and I was hungry …..also nobody finna touch me.”
After being flooded with more concerned posts from fans over the clip, Bardi attempted to snuff out any notion of her being vulnerable by alluding to her staying strapped.
“My house got 24/7 security. I’m very spontaneous and I like my privacy …Sometimes I want to go to the deli or make a quick target run …I’m not waiting around till security come ….ALSO I ALWAYS ALWAYS GOT SOMETHING ON ME!” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet.

Cardi continued to take issue with being what she perceived as mollycoddled, saying: “Love y’all but please stop talking to me like this I hate being babied. I do this lol.”
When one user described her reaction to the concern as “a trauma response,” the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker snapped: “Wtffff yall be talking about …yall need help. It was 9am and I went to get a bacon egg and cheese …STOP WIT THIS cry baby shit.
“Y’all too pussy …let me get off this app cause yall irritating me and is not even funny.”
This is far from the first social media spat Cardi B has become embroiled in of late.
Earlier this month, she shut down the narrative that she has been bleaching her skin while pregnant with her third child.#
After sharing a photo of herself and a friend touching her growing belly, a user on X questioned whether the 31-year-old rapper was bleaching her skin as she looked more pale than usual.
And in true Cardi fashion, she was quick to fire back.
“Bleaching while pregnant?” she replied with multiple side-eye emojis. “Why must yall be so dumb ? Actually NO ! I’m pregnant I’m slightly anemic ,this baby suckin all the energy off my body to the point I’m pale,eyes sunken ,veins green ASF,can’t tan under the sun cause I get hot super fast and dizzy ….PLEAE STOP THINKIN WITH YOUR ASSHOLE!”
