Houston, TX – It turns out Bun B didn’t just shoot a masked intruder who attempted to rob his wife Queenie at their Houston home last week. TMZ reports the UGK vet hopped in his car and chased down the man in an effort to identify him.
The TrillStatik collaborator was able to catch the man and hold him at gunpoint until he agreed to take off his mask, but he escaped again. The suspect ultimately showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot injury to his shoulder. He was treated and promptly arrested.
Bun B’s attorney, Charles Adams, said the Houston rap staple and his wife Queenie recently met with the District Attorney to discuss the specifics of the incident. They were relieved to hear they are being treated as nothing but victims in the case.
The 21-year-old suspect, identified as Demonte Jackson, was going door-to-door trying to find someone to jack. Bun B and his wife weren’t intended targets.
According to a Harris County Jail inmate search, Jackson is currently facing three first-degree felonies, including two counts of aggravated robbery with a weapon and one count of burglary.
His bond is set at a total of $12,000.
Bun B and his wife Queenie experienced quite the scare on Tuesday (April 23) night when a masked intruder attempted to break into their Houston home. According to KHOU, the UGK legend was forced to shoot the man who had pulled a gun on Queenie as she answered the door.
TMZ reports the intruder demanded valuables, so Queenie offered her Audi. But before the suspect could make his escape, Bun rushed down the stairs and a shootout ensued. The intruder fled the scene by foot, leaving his gun behind.
Statik Selektah, who recently collaborated with the Houston Hip Hop staple on the TrillStatik project, was immediately impressed by Bun’s resilience and explained he was back to business shortly after the confrontation.
“I was just blown away that during and right after he was so focused,” Statik tells HipHopDX. “We were back talking about album promo and videos like 10 minutes later like nothing happened. The cops were there and he was calm, talking about album stuff. Dude is one in a million.
“Upmost example of what a man does in that situation. Him and his wife have a bond that everyone should envy.”
The seasoned producer also shared an Instagram post about the incident.
“You got no clue how stressful yesterday was,” he wrote in the caption. “To happy my big bro & his wife are ok. Trill OG x 10000. Handled what he had to. #trillstatik.”
The suspect later showed up at the hospital for treatment and was ultimately arrested at the hospital.
He was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery with a weapon and one count burglary.
