Producer Boi-1da is set to make an impact in the studio for Canada Soccer.
The Grammy-winning Toronto-based artist, known for his behind-the-scenes work on some of the country’s biggest hits, has been producing for Drake since the beginning of his career. Now, he’s taking on a new role as the National Teams Music Ambassador for Canada Soccer, which governs the sport at international, national, and amateur levels.
With Canada preparing to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Boi-1da, the producer of “God’s Plan,” will help elevate the sport’s profile both at home and through the airwaves.
In collaboration with Infinity Records, Boi-1da will lead a new project called Perfect Pitch, which aims to raise funds for youth soccer programs in Canada. As part of this initiative, he will serve as the creative director and executive producer of a series of musical anthems celebrating soccer, with the proceeds benefiting the Canada Soccer Foundation.
Boi-1da isn’t the only Canadian artist involved in shaping the sound of the sport. Juno-winning engineer Hill Kourkoutis has remixed the FIFA World Cup Theme 26, incorporating Toronto’s musical influence, set for release on March 8.
In addition, Boi-1da is being recognized for his recent global success — he’ll receive the International Achievement Award at the 2025 Junos on March 30, making him the first producer to earn this honor.
While it’s unclear which artists he’ll collaborate with on the Perfect Pitch tracks, Boi-1da has a proven track record of working with top names like Rihanna, Eminem, and Nicki Minaj.
“Being able to combine two things that I have a deep passion for – music and Canadian soccer – has always been something that I wanted to do. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to spearhead an initiative that allows me to create a musical identity for a program that I admire,” said Boi-1da in a statement. “Everything about this moment is special.”
