Atlanta, GA – Benzino just can’t catch a break — but then again, court dates are set for a reason. According to TMZ, the former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta personality was arrested on Saturday (June 22) for an outstanding warrant after he failed to show up to court for a traffic violation.

Law enforcement explained Benzino’s car was blocking a street, so an officer ran his plates. The car came back with an arrest warrant because he never showed up to face a traffic ticket he got in April.

During the arrest, Benzino repeatedly cried racial harassment before another officer showed up to slap handcuffs on him. On the way to the jail, he said he was feeling faint and demanded water. An ambulance was called to the jail upon his arrival. He was checked out but refused to go to the hospital.

He was also upset his handcuffs were allegedly too tight and wanted them to be replaced. After getting new handcuffs, he was booked and ultimately released.

This isn’t the first time he’s accused police of being racist. Last December, he blamed racist cops for his ongoing drug case. He was arrested in January 2017 after police raided his Atlanta apartment and found drugs. He was charged with felony possession of THC oil gummies (22 grams), felony possession of six MDMA pills and misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of weed, charges he called “trumped up.”

Former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Benzino reportedly pleaded guilty in his felony drug case on Thursday (January 17). According to TMZ, Benzino struck a plea deal with prosecutors to avoid any jail time.

The Cobb County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to HipHopDX via email that Benzino entered a guilty plea on the three charges he was facing, including Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana- Less than an Ounce. As a result, he was sentenced to two years probation and fined $500 plus surcharges.
