In brighter news, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie recently earned his first diamond plaque for his hit song “Drowning.”
Released in 2017, the track featuring Kodak Black was the lead single from A Boogie’s debut album The Bigger Artist.
The Highbridge the Label founder had expressed his goal of earning RIAA plaques in the past.
In a 2022 interview with GQ about his second collaboration with Kodak, “Water (Drowning Pt. 2),” A Boogie shared: “Kodak and I want a diamond record under our belt right now. So when it comes to ‘Water,’ it’s going to make ‘Drowning’ go diamond at the same time. We’re going to do the video together this time, and bring both of our fan bases together.”
“I was telling everybody, ‘This got to be the main one right here. We got to push this shit right here,’ so we are going to go hard for this song.”
