LAS VEGAS, NV – It appears Las Vegas, the prime destination for gambling and prize fights, is getting a new attraction. Drake has indicated rumors of him setting up a musical residency in the city are true.
The OVO superstar hinted at his new gig in an Instagram post. Drake posted a photo of himself performing at the Wynn Las Vegas resort and casino’s XS Nightclub with the caption “New home.”
Drizzy’s tease came just a few days after he performed at the club on January 10 and reportedly told fans he’d be there “all year.”
“Vegas! When I came back, I thought it’d be back at T-Mobile Arena or some (stuff),” he said, according to Las Vegas Review-Journal. “But I’ll be back here at XS all year. You’ll have a lotta chances to see me.”
Following the performance, the Review-Journal learned Drake allegedly agreed to perform 12 shows at the venue over the next two years. The residency is expected to be a lucrative endeavor for Drizzy since he reportedly made $2 million alone for last Thursday’s performance at XS Nightclub.
Wynn Las Vegas hasn’t released its formal residency roster for 2019 as of Sunday (January 13). The resort/casino is no stranger to paying for big stars though. Diplo and The Chainsmokers are among the chart-topping acts who’ve held down residencies there in recent years.
