Sean “Diddy” Combs has achieved a rare legal success after a judge granted him access to early versions of Cassie’s unpublished memoir.

The founder of Bad Boy Records had previously issued a subpoena to his ex-girlfriend, demanding she provide “all draft memoirs, autobiographies, narratives, diaries, journals or notes … and any communications about plans to publish or threaten to publish such a document.” +++++++++

Cassie attempted to block the subpoena, but Judge Arun Subramanian ultimately ruled that Diddy’s legal team is entitled to review the preliminary manuscript of the book before his upcoming sex trafficking trial.

Diddy’s attorneys argue that these early drafts might highlight inconsistencies when compared to Cassie’s current claims about their past relationship.

Despite Cassie and her legal representatives arguing that the materials have no relevance to the ongoing case, the judge permitted access to versions of the manuscript already in the hands of prosecutors.

However, the court declined Diddy’s requests to obtain her personal diaries, notes, emails, and financial records.

So far, both parties have remained silent publicly about the decision.

Diddy’s legal team also alleged that Cassie once informed him she had written a book detailing their relationship and offered to sell it to him for $30 million to keep it from being released.
