Nicki Minaj‘s husband Kenneth Petty’s criminal past has made headlines again after his new sex offender registry photo surfaced online.
The picture, which has been widely shared online, was recently published on California’s Megan’s Law website.
Megan’s Law is a federal law requiring authorities to make information available to the public regarding registered sex offenders.
The website lists Petty’s sex offender status along with personal details such as his date of birth, profile description and the reason for his conviction: “Attempted rape by force or fear.”
Petty’s sex offender status stems from a 1995 conviction for the first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, for which he spent four years in prison.
He was later given three years’ probation and one year house detention in 2022 after failing to register as a sex offender in California, where he and Nicki moved in 2019 before getting married.

Megan Thee Stallion threw shade at Nicki Minaj on “Hiss” earlier this year by rapping about Megan’s Law, igniting a bitter feud.
“These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law/ I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start,” she spit.
The law is named after Megan Kanka, a young girl from New Jersey was raped and murdered in 1994 by a sex predator who at the time wasn’t legally required to identify himself in the neighborhood.
Megan was just seven years old when she was subjected to the horrific abuse by her neighbor Jesse Timmendequas after he lured her into his house. He was previously convicted of child molestation.
Her father, Richard Kanka, slammed Megan Thee Stallion for using his daughter’s name in her beef with Nicki Minaj.
According to TMZ, Richard was “fuming” over the line and the fact that Megan brought attention to the law didn’t change his ill feeling.
Richard described the use of his daughter’s name on “Hiss” as “highly offensive” to both his daughter’s memory and her family’s pain.
The father apparently hadn’t listened to the song at the time but was made aware of it by one of his children and wasn’t impressed after reading the lyrics.
He was also considering taking legal action against Megan, although TMZ speculated it would be an uphill battle given the liberties that artists have when it comes to referencing cultural and historical events in their music.
