DJ Khaled has challenged the notion that diva behavior is exclusive to female entertainers.
In an Instagram video posted on Sunday (February 25), the We The Best mogul took fans along for the ride as he made his way to a Miami performance. In a bizarre twist, he revealed his unconventional method for keeping his kicks pristine.
“I don’t want to get my Jordans dirty. Can I get everybody to help me? Please. Everybody help me,” he said as he exited his Maybach before gripping onto the shoulders of two security guards who placed him in the back of a driving cart.
“Thanks brothers, appreciate it. Can’t mess up the J’s. I’m performing live right now, right here on Miami Beach. We ’bout to light the whole stage up,” he added before making his way to the stage.
The strange clip got a less than favorable reaction from fans who urged Khaled to “get off [his] fucking high horse.”
“Thats some lazy ass shit he could of got on the truck him self,” another critic said.
Someone else suggested his security guards need a pay rise, writing: “Guards don’t get paid enough for data [laughing emoji].”

DJ Khaled’s diva moment comes as he’s busy ramping up excitement for his new album. Last week, the 48-year-old took to Instagram to confirm that the project, tentatively titled Til Next Time, will boast not one but two appearances from Drake.
“Love to everybody that has ever had a chance to work with Drake or got to experience the greatness from my brother,” he said in a video posted online.
“But what I have locked and loaded in the can? You ever heard word-for-word, sing word-for-word?” he asked, miming a performer singing onstage and asking the crowd to respond.
In the same video, Khaled also said: “It’s time to get back to the hits.”
His latter comment is notable considering the rap mogul has had only three songs crack the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the past five years — all of which, coincidentally, are collaborations with Drake (“Popstar,” “Greece” and “Staying Alive”).
His biggest smashes came in mid-2017, when he went No. 1 with “I’m the One” in May and No. 2 with “Wild Thoughts” in July.
DJ Khaled first talked about having two Drake songs on his next album late last year.
During the first of two shows on Drizzy’s It’s All a Blur Tour in October, the superstar DJ accompanied the 6 God to the stage and held a huge sign that read: “I have 2 Drake songs on my new album — coming 2024.”
“When you come out with the 6 God, you gotta go hard, ” Khaled said in a video he posted on Instagram showing Drake laughing beside him. “You can’t just come out. We ain’t playing with this!”
Khaled has also said that the album will feature Lil Baby, Future and Lil Uzi Vert, who were all featured on last year’s single, “Supposed To Be Loved.”
