50 Cent sat down for an interview to promote his new Power spinoff on Monday (Aug. 31), and ended up dishing on his close friendship with Eminem.
“To this day, you know what’s ill about Em?” the rapper asked June Archer during the chat. “He hit me randomly — I’ll show you my phone, the last time I talked to him. He texted me and was like, ‘Yo, will you go fly me private so I can land on that d–k?'”
“N—a, what the f–k is wrong with you? You said a line a b—h was supposed to say and made it sound cool. Right?” 50 mused with a laugh while recounting the conversation. “Oh, so here’s some other s–t, huh? But he’s stopped what he’s doing to do that. You know what I’m saying? That s–t makes my day on a whole ‘nother level because I’m like [looks quizzically at phone]. It was random …”
50 Cent also admitted he’s “always gonna have love” for his fellow rapper during the interview. “That’s my guy,” he said. “The other guys, they’re not gonna mean the same thing like that … I don’t really feel like there’s a lot of people on the same level.”
While the Power star was quick to shoot down any ideas that he and Eminem would be facing off in their own Verzuz battle any time soon, he did seem more open to the idea of eventually collaborating with his friend. “They’d probably get songs out of us,” he said. “I have songs, still, laying around. … Once it starts to get dated a little bit, we don’t want that.
“I had to start working more, back into writing and doing all that all the time,” he added. “Because Em is sharp right now, he’s wasn’t doing anything different; he went back to record regular like the same s–t he did … and his record sales is right where he left off too — still No. 1. So it’s pretty tough for you to question it, right?”
