The latest celebrity to reportedly test positive for the coronavirus is NBA All-Star Kevin Durant. On Tuesday (March 17), Durant shared his status with a journalist at The Athletic, as the New York Times points out.
“Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine,” Durant apparently told The Athletic’s senior writer Shams Charania, adding that he was feeling fine despite his newly-learned diagnosis. “We’re going to get through this.”
Durant is reportedly one of four Brooklyn Nets players who have tested positive for the virus. Nets officials released a statement citing that “all four players are presently isolated and under the care of team officials,” though they didn’t name names.
Artists around the hip-hop community quickly reacted. 50 Cent teased Durant’s results, albeit wishing him a speedy recovery.
In an interview with TMZ, Nelly lent his support to the revered star, but also reminded everyone to lean on the side of caution when dealing with the infectious virus. “Nobody’s exempt. We’re all the same right now,” he said. “Nobody’s bigger than the other right one. I think we’re all one at the same time right now.”
After news spread regarding KD’s ailment, fans pointed out that Drake was spotted hanging out with him at a restaurant in West Hollywood a few days earlier. Billboard reached out to Drake’s reps for comment.
