50 Cent disclosed that he and JAY-Z collaborated to write Diddy’s verse on the “Forbes Remix” of his track “I Get Money,” although he attributes some lines to Hov.
During an appearance on The Breakfast Club on Tuesday (October 29), the G-Unit leader reflected on the significant 2007 partnership while being questioned about lines from Diddy’s verse, which have gained new context due to his recent legal issues.
Charlamagne Tha God asked, “They said you wrote two verses for Diddy. One was [G. Dep’s] ‘Let’s Get It’ and the other on the ‘I Get Money’ remix. Did you see the meme about it?” He then played a clip of Diddy’s verse where he raps: “Bo knows but Diddy did it / Cars, jewelry and big homes, yeah, Diddy did it / Shootouts, coastal beefs, yeah, Diddy did it / But my lawyer’s so good that Diddy got acquitted.”
Fif quickly chimed in: “Jay helped me with that,” leading to laughter among the hosts.
He noted, “Jay wrote that part about ‘Shootouts, coastal beefs.’ I wasn’t involved in that; it was the East Coast-West Coast [laughs]. Then Keefe D comes out and says…,” trailing off as he referenced the former gang member’s assertion that Diddy hired him to kill 2Pac.
Despite their ongoing rivalry, 50 praised JAY-Z for his skill in writing Diddy’s verse, especially his talent for composing rhymes in his mind without needing to write them down.
“He knew what [Diddy] wanted to say and inserted it into the record,” he explained. “[Diddy] would say, ‘Yo, put this in there.’ [JAY-Z’s] mind works that way.
“Nowadays, artists freestyle continuously, but Jay remembers the ideas in his head, allowing him to say them without writing anything down. Since it came out polished, I said, ‘Put it in there!’”

While 50 Cent and Diddy have collaborated before, their relationship has soured over time.
The “In Da Club” artist has consistently mocked the Bad Boy CEO since Diddy faced a sexual assault lawsuit last year, and his taunts have intensified following Diddy’s recent arrest on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
50 is even producing a Netflix documentary about the serious allegations against the Harlem-born mogul. Titles like Surviving P. Diddy and Diddy Do It? have been suggested, but a final title has yet to be confirmed.
The Queens, New York native recently justified his ongoing jabs at Diddy, stating in an interview with PEOPLE: “It seems like I’m doing some extremely outrageous things, but I haven’t. I’m just expressing what I’ve said for 10 years.”
He added, “Now it’s more visible in the news due to the Puffy situation, but I’ve always stayed clear of that, as it’s just not my style.”
