2 Chainz got in some “me time” during his Tiny Desk (Home) concert, released on Wednesday (Feb. 17), inviting the NPR audience to the nail salon.

The Def Jam rapper performed his first two songs (“Southside Hov” and “Vampire”) at Atlanta’s Pamper nail salon, rapping from a plush leather chair as he got a champagne pedicure. Yes, his nail technician really poured bottles of bubbly into his foot tub during the luxurious treatment. “This gonna be the hottest Tiny Desk because it’s a lifestyle,” Chainz promised.

He changed locations for the final three songs (“Good Drank,” “I’m Different” and “Grey Area”) in his 20-minute-plus set, for which he was joined by a live band in a purple-lit studio space. He wrapped things up with a speech about supporting Black-owned businesses and naming some Black creators (Tyler Perry, Diddy) he felt were good representatives for the community. “Black History Month — 28 days ain’t enough to celebrate what we’ve done for the country, what we’ve done for humanity,” he concluded.

In November, 2 Chainz released his most recent album, So Help Me God!, which includes the singles “Money Maker,” featuring Lil Wayne, and “Quarantine Thick,” featuring Mulatto.
